Light the Fire for Missions
This May, we’re facilitating “Light the Fire for Missions” (LTFM), a missions event beginning Pentecost Sunday on Sunday, May 19th through Wesley (Aldersgate) Day on Friday, May 24th. It’s an opportunity for all ages to experience God’s presence and meaningful fellowship with others while raising funds for pastors throughout the Spanish-speaking world. Help us reach our goal of 250 participants and $5000 raised!

Pentecost and Wesley Day: God’s Personal and Global Mission
Easter makes a bold claim: God’s answer to our brokenness is to defeat the power of sin and death on our behalf. But Pentecost makes that claim personal and global: Christ’s saving power is meant for each of us, transforming us ourselves and our relationships. And when the Spirit came, it was clear that God’s mission was for the whole world. Today, God calls us to continue walking in the Spirit and fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission both near and far.
HOW is the event taking place?
Participants sign up (below), skip a meal and spending time with God, donate what they’d spend on the meal, and then gather with others—family, friends, roommates, small group, Sunday school class, or others—for a cookout, picnic, or simple meal around a table to share about your experience. It’s that simple! *We’ll provide you with a devotional to guide your prayer time and a moment for sharing during your gathering.
WHO can participate?
This missions event is for people of all ages. Children and youth can learn about spending time with God and supporting God’s mission in the world. Young adults, men and women and senior adults can find a fun and engaging way to grow spiritually and connect meaningfully with others in their Christian walk. It’s for anyone hungering to grow with God and see God’s mission transform the world!
WHERE is it happening?
This event is wherever YOU are! It can happen on your back deck, at a restaurant, over a picnic, or at your church. There’s a lot of flexibility for where you choose to participate.
WHAT is this for?
The Wesley Heritage Foundation (WHF) equips, trains, and connects Spanish-language pastors and church leaders across the U.S. and Latin America. We operate the largest network of its kind in the world with over 10,000 Wesleyan leaders across our connection. All funds raised from Light the Fire for Missions will go directly to supporting our ministry’s mission and impact.
